The one 'catch' of a Bloom Filter though is that it can only tell if you an item is 'probably in the data set' or, 'definitely not in the data set', but that's still very useful. The benefit is that Bloom Filters can store an enormous amount of data and let you query against it very quickly. In short through, a Bloom Filter is a very small data structure that can usually be kept in memory and allows you to query against it.
